Year 10 Well Being Day

On 31 January , Rosebery School organised a well being day to help the Year 10s wind down. This was the week after all exams so all students were ready for a break.

At the start of the day there was an all year assembly to map out the plans for the day. All forms had the opportunity to join in and try to work on improving their mental health. The list of activities included a range on exciting activities, including ways to work on improving everyone’s mental and physical health.

The day started off with art. The forms were able to put on their own personalised playlist while working with new tools. The point of the class was to try not to overthink and just try to make something without thinking too much about what you're doing. Towards the end everyone was able to pin their art of the wall. Jess Raw commented: "Even though I'm not a big fan of art that was super fun."

This was then followed by two assemblies which focused on way to regulate how everyone feels. One assembly let everyone write down all their worries and try to find ways to overcome obstacles.

The year ten classes also got to enjoy a boxing class which everyone was very excited about. Holly Smalley said: "Wow! I can't wait to learn a new skill." The class started with two of the Epsom boxing club instructors teaching everyone how to work with the gloves but ended with everyone getting a chance to box with their friends.

As the day came to an end, it concluded with an assembly about trying to work with phones. But most people’s favourite task was the finishing class ‘clubasize’. This consisted of a fun playlist and dark room. The students were handed glow sticks and had the chance to do an exciting group dance which looked awesome and had everyone’s hearts racing.
