The Vamps

Updated: Mar 23, 2023

On Sunday 27 November, the Vamps, a famous boy band, performed their ‘Greatest Hits World Tour’ to celebrate their 10th year of being in a band together. This event took place in London at the O2 Arena and consisted of The Vamps’ greatest and most loved songs. The most popular being Somebody To You, a meticulously written song, which lit up the arena.

From the outset, the buzzing atmosphere of an excited audience filled the entire arena. The first two introduction performances were by emerging artists Henry Moodie and The Aces. These performances exceptionally created the ideal mood before the Vamps entered the stage. There was an immediate uproar as soon as The Vamps entered.

Throughout the evening, the ten years of experience shone through every band member, accentuating their undeniable stage presence. Many people underestimate the talent famous singers have; their ability to perform live and sing so close to the record version will forever continue to amaze me.

A member of the audience, Sayanen Sawmynaden, described the experience as ‘fantastic’; he said: "We had front row seats, so the music was booming, I could feel it in my chest. Not only that, but the songs were phenomenal! They performed many nostalgic songs from when they first started as a band, and the array of music over the last ten years is remarkable. No wonder they stayed together as a band for ten years - an amazing achievement."

He also stated that ‘the most memorable moment of the concert was when the whole arena began swaying while holding up their phone lights, completely in sync.’ This is just one example of how music is an essential part of life and how it can bring people who have never been acquainted, together.

From the outset of their career, The Vamps have strived to bring joy into people’s lives through their music. The members: Tristan, James, Connor and Bradley have unique styles and musicality; they each lit up the stage in a different way.

Having sung the night away, every audience member was beaming as the night concluded.
